Building the cluster

Once you have at least one node ready to go, it's time to build the cluster. As with node configuration, it can be performed from the GUI or from PowerShell.

Cluster validation

Microsoft provides a cluster validation wizard to scan your systems and determine if they are suitable to be joined in a cluster. The tool is generic in nature, meaning that it is for validating all possible cluster types, not just Hyper-V Server clusters. The purpose and nuances of this tool are discussed in Chapter 10, Maintaining and Monitoring a Hyper-V Server Cluster. Validation is an important step, so do not skip it.
