The 2012 series of server products provide a Best Practices Analyzer (BPA) right out of the box. One of these analyzers is designed specifically for Hyper-V. It can be invoked through the GUI using Server Manager or from PowerShell.
The built-in Server Manager console that ships with Windows Server 2012 includes a number of Best Practices Analyzers for many Windows Server roles. Among those is the Hyper-V role. The server does not need any special features or roles installed in order to analyze the Hyper-V role on another system. Remote systems will need to be added to the local list of servers, however.
