Best Practices

• Although some users demand desk phones, in general headsets provide a better and more mobile overall solution.

• Replace legacy conferencing devices with Lync-enabled devices such as the Polycom CX3000.

• Wherever possible, deploy webcams to users. The addition of video adds a lot of value to communication and collaboration.

• Deploy headsets to new employees as part of their laptop/desktop system and teach them to use the unified communications solution during orientation. Training is key, especially for nontechnical users.

• Encourage use by letting users choose from a variety of devices depending on their situation.
