Defining Mediation Pools
The easiest way to deploy a Mediation pool is to simply collocate the Mediation Server role on a Front End pool. Perform the steps outlined in Chapter 5, “Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Front End Server,” and simply check the box Collocate Mediation Server on the Select Collocated Server Roles page while defining the Front End pool, as shown in Figure 18.1. This approach is recommended when Media Bypass can be used because minimal load is placed on the Mediation Servers.
