Lync Server 2013 introduces key peer-to-peer and conferencing video features. At the core of these changes is a new default video codec, H.264 SVC. The use of this codec allows for higher-quality video, with fewer server and client resources. The following features are new to Lync 2013, and affect P2P video functionality:
• H.264 Video Codec—The H.264 video codec supports a greater range of resolutions and frame rates, as well as improving video scalability.
• 1080p Video—HD 1080p video is now available in two-party and multiparty conferences.
