A Client for the Simple XML Web Service

Now you will extend the sample by writing a client for the simple Web service, using the .NET Compact Framework. Create a new Smart Device Application to be the client for the JobsService Web service. The next step is to add a Web reference to the project. This will provide the information that Visual Studio .NET will need to generate a Web service proxy class for you.

Web Reference

Use the Project menu or the Solution Explorer window to add a Web reference. Visual Studio .NET shows the Add Web Reference dialog box. (See Figure 16-9.) The first page shows two Microsoft Web services directory sites that are currently available on the Internet.
