Encrypting a Database

When you create an Access 2007 database, you should consider that it’s possible to view and edit the contents of an Access database using a word processing program such as Microsoft Word. You don’t see the tables in the same easy-to-use layout you get when you open the database in Access, but all the data is there. In other words, storing your database on a computer without Access 2007 is no guarantee your data is safe from prying eyes. Fortunately, obscuring the contents of your database, or encrypting the database, can be accomplished in just a few steps.
