Assigning a Hyperlink to a Graphic, Toolbar Button, or Menu Command

You can assign a hyperlink to a drawing object or imported picture. Simply select the object and choose Insert, Hyperlink (or press Ctrl+K). You cannot assign a hyperlink to an embedded chart or chart element, however.

Use the following steps to assign a hyperlink to a toolbar icon:

  1. Choose View, Toolbars, Customize. (Or right-click any toolbar, and choose Customize.)

  2. If the tool you want to use is visible, right-click it with the Customize dialog box open. If it's not visible, add it to an open toolbar (or display a toolbar on which it is visible), and then right-click it.

  3. Choose Assign Hyperlink, Open from the shortcut menu to open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
