Renaming Fields and Items
You don't have to use the field and item names supplied by the PivotTable And PivotChart Wizard. You can change these names by editing the field heading or any occurrence of the item in the PivotTable. When you change the name of an item in this manner, all other occurrences of the item are changed as well. For example, you can change the CatalogNo heading to Title in Figure 30-15 by selecting the heading in cell A6, typing Title, and then pressing Enter.
Caution
Don't change a field heading in your PivotTable to the name of another field in your data source. Doing so will have unintended consequences.
