Finding and Opening Existing Workbooks

After you’ve created an Excel workbook, you will probably want to open it again, whether to verify the contents, add or update data, or copy data from one workbook to another. If you don’t know the exact name of the file you want to open, but do know some of the data it contains, you can search for the file and open it after you’ve located it.

Open a Workbook

  1. Click the Microsoft Office button.

  2. Click Open.

  3. Navigate to the folder that contains the workbook you want to open.

  4. Click the workbook.
