Assigning a task

Luckily, you don’t have to do all the tasks you create yourself. You can assign tasks to others, as well, so that your team can accomplish what it needs to get done and you can share the workload.

Assign a task

  1. Double-click a task to open it in the task window.

  2. On the Task tab, in the Manage Task group, click Assign Task.

  3. Type a recipient for the task or click To and choose a recipient.

  4. Adjust the due date if needed.

  5. Select Keep An Updated Copy Of This Task On My Task List check box to keep an unassigned copy of the task in your own Tasks folder.

  6. Select Send Me A Status Report When This Task Is Complete check box to receive a status report when the assignee marks the task as Completed.

  7. Click Send.
