Creating sidebars and pull quotes

Sidebars and pull quotes are common layout methods for making certain passages of text stand out from the flow of your normal text. Typically, sidebars are text sections that are related to the current text but not central enough to be included in the regular text. Pull quotes are usually shorter than sidebars, displaying a memorable quote or significant phrase or sentence from the primary text.

Click the Insert tab and then select the Text Box tool to access a gallery of pull quotes and sidebars provided by Word 2013. You can choose from a variety of predesigned text boxes (you can get more on Office.com) or you can draw your own text box and format it the way you like it.
