Docking apps

Windows 8 makes it easy for you to dock apps open on the screen so that you can perform two tasks at once. For example, you might be working with a shared document in Word 2013 while you’re instant messaging one of your co-authors in the Messaging app, which is docked along the right side of your screen. That way you can easily review the document and ask your co-author questions while you work. Docking apps positions one app in place while still allowing you to cycle through other open apps by dragging them in from the left edge of your screen.

Dock apps on the screen

  1. Display the first app that you want to appear on your screen.

  2. Swipe apps in from the left until you find the Office app that you want to dock on the screen. ...
