Launching an app

You can launch an app on the Windows 8 Start screen, whether you’re using a mouse or touch. You begin by scrolling the screen to display the app that you want to use. Then, click the tile to launch the associated app.

Launch an app

  1. On the Windows 8 Start screen, scroll or swipe to the left to display additional app tiles that are beyond the right edge of the screen.

  2. Click the tile for the app that you want to launch

    The app opens on the screen.
