Tweaking the Outlook window

By default, Outlook 2013 displays all the tools you’re likely to need as you read and respond to messages or add items to your calendar. You can customize the look of the window, however, to display the Folder pane, change where the Reading pane appears, and control the ribbon’s display on the screen.

Change the Outlook window

  1. Click the arrow to expand the Folder pane.

  2. Click the View tab.

  3. Click the Reading Pane button and choose Bottom.

  4. Click Message Preview and choose Off.

  5. Click This Folder.

  6. Click the up arrow to minimize the ribbon.

  7. Click a tab to show the ribbon.

  8. Click the Pin icon to pin the ribbon in place.
