Using app jump lists

A jump list makes it easy for you to open a file you’ve recently used or move quickly to a file that is still open in Office 2013. When you hover the pointer or tap and hold the Office 2013 icon in your Windows 8 taskbar, a thumbnail or a list of open or recently used files appears. You can move directly to the file you want by clicking it.

Use jump lists

  1. Point to or tap and hold an icon on the taskbar.

The current file appears as a thumbnail above the app icon.

  2. To display the file, click it.

  3. Right-click an app icon in the taskbar.

A listing of recently used files appears.

  4. Click the file you want to open.

  5. When you’re ready to close the app, click Close Window.
