Behaviors are blocks of code that add functionality to your page without the need for you to write code. They consist of an action and an event. The event triggers the action. Behaviors affect all components between a set of HTML tags; therefore, you cannot associate them with a specific Web Part or a Web Part zone. When you add a behavior to a number of words within a paragraph, you need to add HTML tags to separate the words from the rest of the paragraph; for example, use the <span> tag.
