Creating a List View Web Part

A List View Web Part (LVWP) is a Web Part that displays the contents of a list or library. Using SharePoint Designer to add an LVWP and modify the Web Part settings is very similar to using the browser. The default settings and the look and feel of the LVWP are slightly different in SharePoint Designer, which adds column headings to the LVWP. So if you want to keep a consistent look and don’t want to have to spend time reconfiguring the default settings, you should use the browser to add the LVWP and then open the page in SharePoint Designer to complete your modifications.

In this exercise, you will create an Announcements LVWP.
