Working with XML Data

Using the Data Source Library, you can work with XML data stored in XML files. If these files are located on your site, SharePoint Designer dynamically creates a data connection for each file under the data source XML Files access group. If you import an XML file into a site, a corresponding connection automatically appears in the Data Source Library. As you delete or add XML files to your site, the data connections dynamically appear and disappear from the Data Source Library task pane. If you do not want to retrieve all the data from the XML file, as with lists and libraries, you can copy and modify the data connection.
