The BDC is part of the SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise Edition and enables you to integrate data with SharePoint sites from line of business (LOB) systems, such as SAP, Oracle, and SQL Server databases. A graphical user interface enables administrators to upload and configure BDC applications, set security, and include LOB data as part of SharePoint Server 2007 indexing and search. BDC Web parts can be easily configured to display and filter against imported BDC data, allowing end-users to quickly access critical LOB data in a structured fashion.
