Chapter 4. Entering and Editing Text
You can format your text as you type it, or you can leave all the formatting for a separate step. If you choose to postpone formatting, you can put substance before style and focus on what you’re saying rather than on how it looks on the page.
In this chapter, you learn to enter text, make corrections, and search for and replace text. In subsequent chapters, you learn to format the fonts, paragraphs, and pages of your document.
Starting a New Document
When Word starts, Document1 is open and ready for you to type text. Until you save them under new names, new documents are numbered sequentially (Document2, Document3, and so on).
