Taking Linked Notes

Linked notes are notes that are linked to a web page, Word document, PowerPoint 2010 presentation, or OneNote page. After you click the Link Notes button, OneNote automatically links the notes you take to the web page, Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or OneNote page that is open on your screen.

Taking linked notes is a convenient way to refer to an item you took notes about. All you have to do to open the item about which you took notes is click the Internet Explorer icon, Word icon, PowerPoint icon, or OneNote icon in the note. These icons appear to the left of paragraphs in linked notes.
