Monthly forecast via date hierarchy

1. In Power BI Desktop, select the Line chart visualization type and position it on the report canvas.
2. With the empty Line chart selected, click on a measure from the Field List, such as Internet Net Sales.

3. Now add the date column (Date or Date/Time data type) from your Date table to the axis field well of this visual.
   • By default, a calendar hierarchy should be added to the axis with columns for Year, Quarter, Month, and Day
4. In the top left of the visual, click on the Expand All Down One Level button twice to navigate to the monthly grain:
