As soon as you start executing the project plan, you're constantly monitoring and controlling the project. Like the driver on a journey, you're continually monitoring your vehicle's speed, fuel level, road conditions, and traffic. You make adjustments for changes like construction, route detours, needs of fellow travelers, and traffic jams.

The views in Microsoft Project play a huge part in your ability to monitor the project. Views like the Gantt Chart, Resource Sheet, Task Board, and Sprint Board are like gauges you use to assess your project information from various points of view.
