Lesson 13Obtain Project Acceptance
Congratulations, your project is nearly finished! At this stage in your project, your team has completed all final project tasks. You've achieved the milestones, submitted all deliverables, and met the project goals. With the completion of the final task, you exit the monitoring and controlling processes of the project and enter the closing process.
However, there's still a bit of work to be done. As in a construction project, this is the point where the product or service the project has developed is considered “substantially complete.” Although all the tasks are done, some fine-tuning and adjusting still must be done before the project sponsor is happy with the end result and can accept the project as finished.
This lesson covers the presentation of the project to your project sponsor, completing the necessary activities to obtain official project sign-off, using Microsoft Project to run reports and document final refinements, and celebrating success with your team.
