Sending and receiving information is the foundation of messaging, groupware, and, of course, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. In this chapter, you start looking at the message transfer process within an Exchange system. Exchange Server 2007 is based on a multitude of messaging components, but with some analysis it becomes apparent how these components interact to create an enterprise-wide messaging system.
