Queues
Queues can be good indicators of performance issues. If data is not flowing
smoothly between the CPUs, the RAM, the storage subsystem, and the net-
work, the Exchange product components will start to build up queues.
You can measure some queues to get an overall feeling, and you can be
more precise in monitoring certain events to be able to pinpoint the loca-
tion of the problem. I found, after time, that the MSExchangeIS\RPC
Requests counter was an excellent queue indicator. Figure 6.36 shows an
example of a busy server.
