face and hammer the back-end server to build and maintain their indexes!
Such events can happen with no warning and only contribute to a high
back-end utilization, leading to long response time, message queues built
up, and decreased service levels. Microsoft provides tools to analyze MAPI-
RPC traffic per user, such as ExMon, allowing administrators to easily iden-
tify abnormal traffic—at least workload that does not correspond to the
behavior of an Outlook client, be it in cache or online mode.
