Note that the queuing and routing component does not necessarily store
transient messages in the Exchange 2003 Information Store but depends on
the component for that. It happens that both X.400 MTA and SMTP
transports use their own local storage for transient messages, and this is an
area that you should not ignore when configuring high-performance
switching components in an Exchange 2003 environment. Figure 1.16
shows how you can reach to the properties of the SMTP virtual server of a
running Microsoft Exchange server and alter the paths used by the virtual
server for storing these temporary messages.
