4.6.2 In Summary
The supportability limits, combined with the adoption of the iSCSI did
not leave much room for the feature pack to be widely deployed and
adopted. It was an intermediate solution for using Exchange 2003 on top of
IP networks that eventually showed that there was a customer demand for
moderate storage workload over networked storage. Even if the Feature
Pack was an interesting approach from Microsoft, it was quickly let down
in favor of iSCSI, which we cover in the next section.
