Creating KPIs

Key performance indicators (KPIs) have captured the attention of the business world in recent years. A KPI measures the progress that a business is making toward meeting its goals. In Analysis Services, a KPI provides a visual representation of these comparative metrics over time, rather than just displaying the numbers. The visual representation is based on your input and shows whether the progress against goals is positive, neutral, or negative by using graphical images such as a stoplight that displays a green, yellow, or red light according to the specified business rules.
