How Navigation Works

Good navigation is core to a successful SharePoint deployment. Thankfully, the out-of-the-box navigation in SharePoint Server 2010 offers flexible options seen previously in SharePoint Server 2007, including the ability to modify existing and add new menu items, display links to both pages and subsites, and create new menu headings.
