Where Are Web Parts Stored
In Chapter 4, “Design Administrative Tasks: Site Settings, Permissions, and Creating Sites,” you learn about the site settings associated with SharePoint sites, specifically SharePoint galleries. Each site collection includes a Web Part Gallery, shown in Figure 6.1, accessed via the root site of a site collection. The Web Part Gallery is created when a site collection is provisioned and includes all the default functional SharePoint Web parts, such as the CQWP and Media Web Part. Web parts stored in the site collection Web part gallery are by default available to all subsites throughout a site collection.
