Web Parts and Anonymous Sites

If you plan on rolling out your SharePoint sites as anonymous sites—or public-facing sites—then you should definitely test Web parts like the CQWP or other aggregate Web parts in both authenticated and anonymous modes. Although this was always a consideration in earlier SharePoint versions, it’s even more relevant in SharePoint 2010 due to the way Web parts interact with the ribbon. For instance, because there’s a degree of dependency between Web parts added to pages and the ribbon, you need to consider how you will manage that interaction on an anonymous site.
