In SharePoint 2010, users with edit rights can choose to personalize page views on Web part and publishing (server) pages. Basically, personalization enables users to add their own Web parts to a page that only they can view. Personalization does not apply to Wiki pages. Shared view, on the other hand, is the common view that includes Web parts shared and viewed by all users. Figure 6.12 shows the personalization options available via the site’s Welcome link, which include Personalize This Page, Show Shared View (which appears where a user is viewing their personalized version of a page), and Reset Page Content (which also appears when a user has personalized their view of a page).
