Creating Sites from SharePoint Designer Backstage
One way to create new sites in SharePoint Designer is via the SharePoint Designer backstage, shown in Figure 8.19. Clicking the Sites tab in the left-hand menu results in the New SharePoint Site column to the right of the screen. Two buttons, New Blank Web Site and Add Subsite to MySite, are prominently displayed at the top of the column and give you easy access for creating those site types. Alternatively, three additional site template options are displayed immediately below those buttons, including Blank Site, Blog, and Team Site. To access additional site templates, you need to click the More Templates option.
