Using the Select Command

The Select command, located in the ribbon’s Editing group, includes options to Select All (for selecting content either in code or design views) and Select Parent Container. The Select Parent Container option selects the parent container of the currently selected element and works in both code and design view (or split view). For instance, in Figure 11.48, selecting the DIV class ms-rtestate-read in code view shows the parent DIV class in design view. This can be useful when you’re trying to determine the layout, positioning, and sorting of elements while editing pages.
