Page Layout Architecture
In working with and creating page layouts, it is important to understand how page layouts work in SharePoint Server 2010. This section introduces the various components and makeup associated with page layouts, including content types. To begin with, Figure 15.1 demonstrates the role of page layouts in SharePoint site collection.
