Detach a Publishing Page from Its Page Layout

In this section, you learn how to detach a publishing page from its page layout, edit the publishing page, review changes to the page and realize the effects of detaching a page from its page layout. To detach a publishing page, use the following steps:

1. In SharePoint Designer, click the All Files tab in the left-hand navigation and pin the tab by clicking the pin toggle.

2. Under All Files, scroll down until you locate the Pages library. Expand the Pages library and then right-click the page you want to detach from its page layout. Click Detach from Page Layout, shown in Figure 15.62.
