ASP.NET Controls in SharePoint Designer

ASP.NET controls in SharePoint Designer provide additional means for styling and manipulating data sources throughout SharePoint sites and are accessed via the Toolbox task pane, shown in Figure 21.1. There are five categories of ASP.NET controls, including

Standard: Traditional ASP.NET form and related controls, including AdRotator, Button, Checkbox, and ContentPlaceHolder.

Data: Controls related to working with and configuring external data and sitemaps. Includes the SqlDataSource and GridView controls (covered in this chapter).
