Data Source Task Pane and Data Types

Chapter 19 explored data sources and also discussed the Data Source Details task pane. The Data Source Details task pane provides direct access to a data source’s columns, including lists, libraries, or other data sources. As you work with views in SharePoint Designer 2010, you leverage the Data Source Details task pane for adding and removing fields and determining the format of a column when it is added to the DFWP.

One of the options available when adding columns to an XLV or DFWP is the data type. Some of the common data types available include
