Basic View Architecture

By default, every list and library created in SharePoint sites includes a default view. Typically, the default list or library view is named AllItems.aspx, although you can choose to make another view the default view. An ASPX (forms) page is created for each view, so each time you create a new view a new ASPX page is also created to house the view within the list or library.

Figure 22.1 demonstrates the basic architecture of views in relation to a document library. Views and other functional pages are stored in the library’s Forms folder.
