Editing Options for XLVs in SharePoint Designer 2010
Editing an XLV in SharePoint Designer activates the ribbon’s List View Tools contextual tab (see Figure 22.21). There are four tabs: Options, Design, Web Part, and Table. The Options tab is selected by default, which includes filter, sort, and grouping commands. The Finder command, shown in the filtering group in Figure 22.21, is shown in disabled (grayed-out) state. This is due to the fact that the XLV currently being edited is not an External List XLV; the Finder command only activates when an External List XLV is in edit mode.
