Working with Views in Site Collections

Figure 22.5 shows an example of a library (standard view) XLV in SharePoint 2010. The XLV includes columns (fields), rows, and items. In this case, the XLV is shown in the actual library where it was created (the Shared Documents library). The All Documents view is the default view set for the library, or the view display name. Each time you create a new view in SharePoint 2010, you also automatically create a new form (ASPX) page to contain the view. The URL name of the form page does not have to match the view display name. For instance, if you look in the Shared Document library’s Forms folder you find a form page named AllItems.aspx, which is the page containing the All Documents XLV.
