Where Custom XSLT Styles Are Stored
When you choose to create custom XSLT files, then those files are typically stored in the site collection’s Style Library, either in the root of the library or within a specific folder in the library. For instance, the out-of-the-box XSLT files relating to publishing functionality in SharePoint Server 2010 sites, such as ContentQueryMain.xsl and TableOfContentsMain.xsl, are stored in the XSL Style Sheets folder in the Style Library. Figure 23.77 demonstrates the process between working with custom XSLT files and those stored on the Web front-end server when working with and styling XLVs in SharePoint Designer.
