Adding the List View Style Content Type to the Style Library

In order to make the new XSLT style available when working in SharePoint Designer, you need to first add the List View Style content type to the site collection’s Style Library, as described in the following steps.

1. With your site open in SharePoint Designer, click All Files in the left-hand navigation and then to the right locate the Style Library and click it. Under All Files, in the left-hand navigation pane, scroll down until you locate the Style Library, right-click it, and click Properties.
