Apply the New Style to an XLV

The next step involves applying the custom view style to a Tasks list XLV in SharePoint Designer, per the following steps.

1. Reopen the site in SharePoint Designer and if a Tasks list does not already exist, create a new Tasks list.

Note

For a quick review on creating lists in SharePoint Designer, refer to Chapter 10.

2. On the Tasks list’s Settings page, in the View’s part, click the All Tasks view to open it in edit mode.

3. With the XLV selected, click the Design tab in the ribbon’s List View Tools contextual tab. In the View Style group, click the drop-down selector to expose additional view styles, shown in Figure 23.81. Click the Tasks view to apply the new style to the XLV.
