Why Custom List Forms?

The main reason for creating custom list forms is mostly due to the fact you want to achieve greater functionality than that offered by the out-of-the-box list forms, such as conditionally hiding or showing list fields based on what a user selects. Design of forms from a logical perspective is an important aspect of any list, or library, within your SharePoint deployment. If a user finds it hard to complete a form, or if a form is not intuitive, then it’s likely you’ll end up with bad data. Other opportunities for custom list forms include rearranging fields or changing the edit mode on a field.
