With the continued adoption of technology, society has become increasingly reliant on search. Think about how often you use search. We use it daily in the context of both our work and personal lives; it is a part of our digital lives. Whether you're using your mobile phone or tablet to search Bing or Google, asking an electronic assistant to answer a question, or searching your organizational intranet for an employee handbook, search is a fundamental feature of any content management platform—it allows us to find information. We've grown accustomed to being able to perform a basic search query and immediately see what we're looking for—usually with a few thousand other things to parse through if the top result isn't exactly what we need.

Consider your favorite internet search engine or your go-to social media application—how often do you search for a specific topic, website, or post? If you're like most people, you search for information at least three times per day—about half of the time from a mobile device. Trillions of search queries are performed yearly, and the trend continues to grow.
