Most people and small businesses take backup seriously only after their first, or sadly even second, disaster. Even then, perhaps, backup doesn’t get the respect it deserves given that the data to be backed up may represent the entire intellectual property and value of a business that took years to build. In the time to recover the backed-up data the entire goodwill of the business or its cash flow can be eroded.
